Dr. Mohamed Mira

Dr. Mohamed Mira, former owner and current associate veterinarian at Howard County Animal Hospital, has been serving the community since 2000. Inspired by a childhood experience in Egypt, where he helped heal a stray dog's broken leg, he pursued veterinary studies in Cairo and later earned his DVM from Purdue University in 1993.

Passionate about problem-solving, Dr. Mira takes pride in addressing veterinary challenges and delivering essential care. Beyond the hospital, he enjoys photography and traveling internationally.

At home, Dr. Mira shares his life with his wife, three children, and two cherished kittens, Lulu and Buttercup. He believes that pets can help teach our children compassion, empathy and responsibility, improve our quality of life, and the work he does helps ensure their quality of life too.
